E3 Diary: Day Two

22 4

Yesterday, I spent the day gushing about Virtua Tennis 4 on PlayStation Vita to anyone too polite to ignore me. It’s gorgeous and has brilliant, intuitive touch screen controls as well as, although I didn’t get to play it, a mode where two people can play on the same PS Vita in what has been described as a ‘pong-like’ tennis game. It’s Ace.

I also played half a dozen games of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and was lucky enough to be buddied up with Naughty Dog’s Richard Lemarchand; a top guy who spent the day in the SCEE lounge chatting and doing interviews. If he didn’t already know that the Uncharted games are great, quite a few people told him so today.

I also did some work, including a live video interview with another Richard, from Bigbig Studio, about Little Deviants; I wrote a hands-on piece about Rochard, an upcoming PSN Platform puzzler, which I’ll post later today; and I interviewed London Studios’ Dave Ranyard about DanceStar Party, a dancing game using PlayStation Move that was announced here at E3.

I also took a tour of the entire show floor and took lots of pictures, and you can see them here in this handy slideshow.

Tomorrow is the last day of the show and I’ll be taking the chance to check out as many PlayStation Vita games as I can and we’ll be doing yet more live interviews. Tune in!
